Casino Pauma: Art deco themed decor & signage Changeover
As a part of the I-5 Design & Manufacture team involved in the monumental task of renovating an existing casino tent structure’s interior and exterior into an Art Deco themed haven on earth for its casino patrons utilizing the “orange grove” commonly found in the area as a themed tie in. I was privileged to play apart in this transformation and it holds a dear place in my heart of project completions since I worked with my dad, Roger Robison who served as the salesman to the Pauma Band of the Luiseno Native American Indian Tribe. My favorite involvement was the Tribal Wall that was specifically requested to recognize and honor their heritage as a spotlight in the newly renovated space with changeable paneling and imagery so that it could be updated over time as needed and allow for myriads of options. Of course the rest was no walk in the park, it was important that every room be individually distinguished while remaining consistent design wise with the rest. This was accomplished using similar structural elements but allowing for customality in the design. Components included custom designed repeatable wall murals in varying art deco themed patterns with wood trims, natural mica light fixtures, wood trellis structures on the ceiling surrounding them, stone column accents, drop soffits with LED illumination, tin ceiling panels and custom light fixtures to designate specific areas of interest, custom carpets, wallcoverings, illustrated tree vinyl door graphics, stained glass reminiscent paneling, 3D sculpted wall paneling, metallic sheeting in various etched eye-catching patterns and dimensional lettering to identify areas.
